B.VOC Animation and Graphic design

Programe Outcome:

Bachelor of Vocation (B Voc) in Animation and Graphic Design provides participants with creative education through professional training. The University Grants Commission (UGC) has launched a scheme on skill development based on higher education as part of College/ University education, leading to B Voc graduation with multiple exits such as Diploma and Advanced Diploma under National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF). This programme is intended to incorporate specific job roles along with broad based general education. This would evolve the graduates completing B Voc to make a meaningful participation in accelerating India’s economy by gaining appropriate employment, becoming entrepreneurs and creating appropriate knowledge. This programme is designed to impart the requirements of specific industry in its curriculum, in an innovative and flexible manner to produce holistic and well groomed graduates. B Voc programme is designed to ensure that the students have adequate knowledge and skills, so that they are work ready at each exit point of the programme. The programme will equip the participants with professional competence according to the current trends in the industry.

Program Specific Outcomes:

The Vocational programme in Animation and Graphic Design is a judicious mix of skills, professional training in the field of Animation & Graphic Design and also appropriate content of general education. The programme is designed to impart professional skills of equipping students for the emerging trends of the industry. This programme is designed in such a fashion to provide students with ample opportunities in the industry. At the undergraduate level, acquiring professional skills make this course stand out from the other regular traditional course structure. B Voc programme in Animation and Graphic Design covers detailed studies in Graphic Design, Web Design, Web Animation, Classical Cel Animation, Photography, Stopmotion Animation, Digital 2D Animation, 3D Animation, Visual Effects and Editing.

This programme makes an understanding on a variety of disciplines within the three years of professional training. Though the programme includes theoretical and general components, the major parts of their studies carry out in practical or skill based training. The professional training during the under graduate level and three internship programmes with reputed firms in the concerned discipline make the students capable of handling any challenges in their professional career.

Paper-III Principles of Animation
  • Describe and evaluate the eight major classical types of animation (individual objective)
  • Produce a short film using each of the eight major classical animation types (collaborative objective)

Paper-IV Creative Design
  • Understanding Creativity: The concept, definition, process etc.

Paper-V Communication Skills in English

Paper-VI Drug Abuse
  • Understand the concept of use, misuse, abuse, dependence, withdrawal and addiction.
  • Understand physical, psychological, social and economical effects of drug abuse.
  • Analyze how alcohol and other drugs result in family dysfunction.

Semester-2nd

Paper-I Storyboarding & Screenplay
  • This course will offer skill development in the use of software to develop storyboards and 2-dimentional animation including creating, importing and sequencing media elements to create multi-media presentations.
  • Emphasis will be on conceptualization, creativity, and visual aesthetics.
  • This course takes the students through various aspects of animation using a variety of 2 dimensional software.
  • Developing concepts, storyboarding and production of several 2 dimensional animations will be accomplished.
Paper-II 2D Digital Animation: Flash
  • 2D Animation I is an intermediate course for traditional, digital and cut-out animation.
  • This course provides students the fundamental skills to produce traditional style animation as well as puppet animation and the knowledge of the principles of animation to be built upon in subsequent courses leading up to the Portfolio course.
  • Students can also apply skills learned in this class in other areas including motion graphics, stop motion and basic traditional animation.
Paper-III Introduction to 3D Maya
  • Create their first 3D scene in Autodesk Maya 2017 .
  • Understand the basics of Maya 2017.

Paper-IV Introduction to 3D Maya Modeling
  • 3D modeling and animation have transformed numerous fields, including filmmaking, computer games, architecture and product design.
  • This course provides an introduction to the exciting world of 3D content creation, while emphasizing its connection to the creative thought process.
  • Students will learn an overview of the artist workflow as it relates to modeling, texturing, animation, lighting and rendering.
  • This course offers a new dimension to the process of filmmaking and design.

Paper-III Video Editing
  • learn how to combine basic design principles in video editing.

  • Students will learn Importance of High Standards of Health and Safety at workplace.

  • They will learn Types of emergencies, Emergency plans, Evaluation and other emergency procedures in case of fire, flood, earthquake etc.

Paper-III VFX DESIGN Students will learn:-
  • Importing Footage and Editing it, Data Management, Key-framing and tweening , Workflow, Exporting and File Formats ,Masks, Layer Modes, Basic Effects
  • Keying Layer Properties , Nesting, Pre-comping , Non-destructive Workflow , Text & Title effect .
  • Color Correction in After Effects , Manipulating Footage , Green Screening , Wire and rig removal Section , Rotoscoping with mask and Roto brush, Tracking and stabilizing 3. Advanced Effects-Rain, 3D Camera , Particles and Physics.
Paper-IV AUDIO EDITING Learning Outcomes:
  • Students will learn about Analog and digital audio, Basic Preferences, working in the Waveform View, Level Meters, Supported File Types, Basic Recording.
  • Understanding various digital audio formats like .WAV, .MP3, etc.
  • SOUND FILE EDITING: Trimming, Adjusting Volume Levels, Opening Files with Bridge, Applying Fades with Fade in and Fade Out.
  • Applying and Controlling fades, Changing Volume with Key frames, Editing Key frames, Adjusting Volume, Combining Sound files with Mix Paste, Workflow, waveform volume, and pan envelopes.
  • MANIPULATING AUDIO: trim/crop, mute, reverse, smooth/enhance, Fade in/out, insert silence, etc. WORKING WITH MULTI TRACK PROJECTS: Starting a Multi-track Project, Adding Tracks to an Existing Multi track Project, Multi track Project Control and Tools, Muting and Soloing, Trimming and Fading, Key framing, Replacing and Moving Tracks, Internal Edits, Finalizing the Two-Track Mix, insert track markers, adding multiple tracks, adjusting track, time.

Paper-II FILM DIRECTION AND DOCUMENTRY

Paper-III 3D ARCHITECTURE VISUALIZATION USING 3DS MAX (INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR DESIGNING)
